Duke University Mathematics, teaching experience spanning math, French, and test prep from middle school through IB and college level, and 15+ years applying mathematics in biotech strategy and analytics.
How I Work
Confidence is a byproduct of understanding — not a prerequisite for it.
My focus is on conceptual understanding — the kind that builds genuine confidence, holds up over time, and produces a real sense of accomplishment. Memorized procedures work until they don't; deep understanding builds a foundation that serves the student, whatever their goals.
For advanced learners, that means going further than the standard curriculum allows: elegant problem-solving strategies, competition-style reasoning, and the satisfaction of tackling problems that require creative thinking.
For students who feel stuck, it means identifying the root of the difficulty and rebuilding from there. Every student deserves to feel capable, not just coached.
